Food & Wine Pairings

Recommendations from Our Customers & Founders

We love when our customers send us pics and messages about what they're eating with our wines. We have some serious home chefs in our lot. It's so impressive.

So for the holidays, we've compiled a list of pairing recommendations for each of our current releases wines from both our customers and ourselves. We hope you'll give some of them a try and come up with your own favorites. If you do, please share with us.

2018 Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon

Our flagship 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Mount Veeder is full-bodied and well structured with moderate tannins, making it a remarkable food wine. Flavors of bright red cherries, blackberries and black currant progressively build with subtle spice components layered with dark chocolate, pepper and cedar.

Pair with:

    • Beef Tenderloin
    • Roast Lamb
    • Braised Short Ribs

2018 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Rich and opulent with balance and beauty at the core, this is our everyday cab. We love its versatility with or without food.  It's a blend of of 80% Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc, it's super smooth and easy-drinking with layers of flavor.

Pair with:

    • Steak Frites
    • Beef Empanadas
    • Meat Lasagna

2018 Mount Veeder Cab Franc

This is our most versatile wine, and a customer favorite. It's 100% Cabernet Franc from the Wildcat Vineyard, high up on Mount Veeder. We love the elegance - gracious, supple and richly layered with a balanced acidity and tannin structure. Our Cab Franc was made for food, and we particularly enjoy it with spicy dishes.  Our weekly go-to are fajitas from the Browns Valley Market here in Napa. So good!

Pair with:

  • Roast Turkey or Chicken
  • Spicy Fajitas (our winemaker's favorite pairing)
  • Balsamic Glazed Lamb Chops

2019 Carners Rosé of Cab Franc

Our rosé is uniquely made of 100% Cab Franc, and we crafted it to drink a like a white wine with substantial body and structure. In other words, this is not a wimpy rosé! You can enjoy as an aperitif or pair it with appetizers and entrees. It's full-bodied and complements some heavier dishes quite well. Served very chilled, and enjoy the lush mouthfeel and lovely fruit flavors.
